Friend . Vilomah. Guide

My life changed forever on February 11, 2023 — the day my second son, Stephan, was killed in a devastating car accident. While paramedics worked for hours to reach him, we did not yet know that our world had already shifted.

Nearly nine hours passed before we received the call — nine hours in which Stephan lay on a cold, dark, winding road in Maryland, and nine
hours in which the life I knew quietly ended.

In a single moment, everything changed. Not only because my son was gone, but because I was being asked to live in a world that no longer looked the way it once did.

The day I became a grieving mother, I felt an overwhelming responsibility — not only to survive the loss of my child, but to bring God glory in the midst of tragedy. In a fallen and broken world, I knew I wanted

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

Stephan’s life to continue to matter through the way I lived. I chose to honor him by learning how to thrive inside my grief — by remaining his mother even as his location changed, and by continuing to mother his eight siblings who still look to me for love, strength, and guidance.

I began adopting rituals and everyday practices that helped my family and me express our resilience and gently restore the joy that felt lost after Stephan’s untimely death. These small, intentional choices became anchors — ways to remember, to honor, and to keep moving forward together.

As I started sharing the revelations from my grief journey, people often stopped me with the same question: how are you still able to smile? How can you look at life through a lens of hope and joy after such a devastating loss?

Those questions became the beginning of something I did not plan — but knew I was being called to walk. My ultimate goal for every Vilomah is to show you this truth: you get to decide what your child’s legacy will be. Grief may have chosen you, but it does not get to write the ending of your story.

Even in the valley, even in the shadows, God is still good. And His heart toward you is recovery, redemption, and restoration.

I know you may not be able to see that right now. I know hope can feel offensive when your arms are empty and your heart is shattered.
But along my journey, I had to confront the religious beliefs and false accusations I had been taught about death, evil, and what people call “God’s plan.” Because after all, who could truly trust a God who would take part in the loss of their child?

That is not His heart. God is for me and not against me, and He is for you too. And I’m living proof that loving life again, authentically, is possible.

My purpose is to help you find yourself again. To help you love life, love others, and love yourself again without feeling like you are leaving your child behind. Your smile, your sparkle, your shine is still inside you — and I’m here to help you find it, step by step.

When your child goes to heaven, it can feel like the world moves on without you.
